How to Change Date on a Photo in Gallery on Samsung

Andrew Clark February 7, 2022

There’s a time when you’ll need to change the date of a photo on your Android phone. So, if this is the case for you then you’re in the right spot. In this Android tutorial, you’ll learn how to change the date on a photo in the gallery on Samsung Galaxy phones running on One UI 4.0 based on Android 12.

Previously, it was impossible to change or correct the date and time on a photo on a Samsung phone specifically. Luckily, with the Android 12 (One UI 4.0) update, now you can change the date and time of a photo within the Gallery app on Samsung devices.

Furthermore, you may need to modify the date and time of a picture shot on your phone from time to time. Also, if you’re not aware, when you snap a photo using your phone’s camera, it retains information such as the date and time, as well as the location where the picture was taken.

In the meantime, Google recently upgraded the Android Photos app, adding the option to adjust the date and time of photos and videos. Samsung has now followed suit and added the same functionality to its Gallery app. Samsung has published an update (version 13) for the stock Gallery app on One UI, which features a new edit option that allows you to adjust the date and time of photographs. To use this new feature, go to the Galaxy Store and update the app on your Samsung smartphone.
