How to Fix Windows 11 Taskbar is Greyed out or Disabled

So, here are the steps to fix Show accent color on Start and taskbar greyed out or disabled:

Step 1. Press Win key+I to open Settings.

Step 2. Click Personalization > Colors.

Step 3. Choose the Dark or Custom option next to the Choose your mode.

Step 4. Once the Dark option is selected, the greyed out or disabled Show accent color on Start and taskbar will be fixed. From here on you change the Start and taskbar color as per your wish.

If the Windows color mode is set to Light, the “Show accent color on Start and taskbar” option gets greyed out. It will only appear if you change your Windows color mode to Dark.

Why is it impossible for me to change the color of my taskbar?

It’s because you’re running Windows in Light Mode. Change Windows Mode to Dark, then select an accent color for the Start Menu and Taskbar. It will then alter the color for both of them automatically. You may also use a theme, which will change the color automatically.
