Step 1. Launch the Safari web browser on the iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Now tap on the AA on the top left-hand corner and then select Request Desktop Website to open the desktop version of YouTube.

Step 3. After enabling the desktop version of YouTube on Safari, open youtube.com.

Step 4. Now search for any video or song that you want to listen to in the background and play it.

Step 5. Now return to the iOS Home Screen and exit Safari, either by pressing the Home button or with the Home gesture.

Step 6. If the video stops, simply swipe down from the top corner to open the Control Center or swipe up on iPhone with the Home button then tap the play button.
