With the release of One UI 4 on a large number of Galaxy smartphones, a few modifications are expected to arrive on your device shortly. Some of the modifications are rather interesting. One of them is the ability to personalize your wallpaper and select a colour palette based on it. Learn here how to use the colour palette on Samsung One UI 4.0 based on Android 12.

Material You Wallpaper Theming

The extreme degree of customisation enabled by Material You is one of the coolest new Android 12 features that consumers will love. Users may personalise even the tiniest details of their phone because of the design language’s creative flexibility. Material You theming in One UI 4 uses your wallpaper as a starting point and lets you pick from a variety of unique colour palettes that are applied system-wide.

Thankfully, Samsung’s One UI 4 has accepted this functionality. Users who use wallpapers on their phones now have a variety of colour themes to pick from. These unique colour themes, which are based on the wallpaper’s colours, work across the phone, even in applications that support Material You, and look fantastic. Right now, our favourite One UI 4 feature has to be the Material You-based theming.

I appreciate Samsung’s approach since it produces a larger range of vivid colours than the subdued pastels found on a Pixel. This is as simple as installing new wallpaper. After that, the phone will prompt you to select one of four randomly created colour palettes.

One UI 4 uses the multiple accent colours in the wallpaper to create a colour pallet for your Samsung Galaxy device, just like Android 12. If you choose a wallpaper with blue and green hues, for example, your device will propose colour palettes that include those tones. The palette you select will appear in many aspects of the UI, including the notification menu, system applications, and settings. Certain third-party applications that currently use Android 12’s Dynamic Color will also read and apply the colour palette.

So, here are the steps to enable and use the colour palette on Samsung One UI 4.0 based on Android 12:

Step 1. First of all, set your favourite wallpaper.

Step 2. Now, navigate to the Settings app and select Wallpaper and style.

Step 3. Here, tap the Colour palette.

Step 4. From the 4 available colour palettes select your desired one and then tap Done.

You may also select to use that colour palette for system app icons. It will pick one colour and apply it to all of the system app icons, giving them a consistent look. After you’ve chosen a palette, click Done, and you’re done. You can always go back and modify it later, so pick one and get a feel for it.
